J Max Thomas
National Strength and Conditioning Association: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Physical Therapy is the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as soft tissue or joint mobilization, heat, cold, electrical modalities, exercise, etc , rather than by drugs or surgery.
Physical Therapists are licensed health care professionals, who can evaluate then help patients reduce pain and improve or restore mobility. PTs can teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so they become more independent in their care and recovery.
PTs can also assist patients with the development of fitness and wellness programs.
J Max Thomas, Director, Medicomp Madison Physical Therapy
Max has practiced PT in the Jackson area for over 30 years, over 20 of this in private practice. The PTs (Max and Michelle Ellison) at Medicomp Madison have over 60 combined years of experience.
Practice emphasis has been in the area of Orthopedic , sports performance, and strength/conditioning.
Max utilizes the normal PT tools of “hands on” care with soft tissue/joint mobilization, massage, traction, etc, but his philosophy is to emphasize exercise. Movement heals and prevents. Patients require strength, balance, power, flexibility, and joint mobility to prevent and recover from most conditions.
