Helping people to overcome trauma and loss, find their true self, and discover the passion of the creative life.
Each of us is on a journey. At times we may need help along the journey. Each of us has a story. We should have the opportunity to tell our story in an open and accepting relationship. At times we may need help telling and understanding our story and finding our way on our journey. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and welcoming environment in which clients can share their story, find help in discovering ways to overcome obstacles on their journey, and assist them in finding deeper meaning in their lives, vocations, and relationships resulting in a freer and more creative expression of spirit and soul.
I have over 20 years of experience working as a marriage and family therapist and psychologist. My doctoral education focused not only on the mental health problems and needs of individuals but also of our society and the world with the purpose of helping the clients who come to us in finding healing not only for their minds but also for their souls and spirits so that they are able to carry this healing into their families, communities, and their world.
In therapy I use whatever approach best meets the need of the individual client whether that is cognitive behavioral, systemic, solution focused, psychodynamic, narrative, existential, humanistic, interpersonal, relational, trauma focused, or a combination of different approaches. The goal is to use whatever the client needs in order to reach their goals.
